How Bobby D Got Started...

Friends often ask me how I got started playing music. Music comes from my mom's side of the family. Growing up there was always music in our home. My Uncles were a great inspiration and they all played music. Uncle Larry taught me my first chords, Uncle Hollis recorded several records. Uncle Jr. I used to go here him play live whenever I could. My Uncle Morgan was also a music entertainer. They all Love their music as I do today. My old friend Clif Nickens (RIP) gave me albums to learn, a drum machine and the encouragement I needed to get started many years ago. Today nearly 45 years after I started this journey playing music it has been a pleasure and a privilege to share the stage with so many great musicians, to many to list and that I have learned so much from. My biggest reward playing music is seeing folks have a good time and seeing them on the dance floor. I appreciate everyone's support that they have shown me now and in the past! God has blessed me with what talent that I have and I'm thankful that I am able to continue to do what I love, and with a wife Judy Duplessis that supports me so dearly.
